Rainy start for today, but two Luffy figures arrived in time for my birthday!
First is the Ichiban Kuji Strong World Luffy!
I love the dynamic feel of this figure! It's as if the coat is flowing energetically in the wind when he poses. The sandals and the straw hat add a carefree touch which is very Luffy. I always liked the full suit version of Luffy, so this is his best Strong World figure yet, in my opinion (better than the P.O.P -

The rock formation he's standing on makes him appear taller than the Ichiban Kuji Zoro, side to side.
I'm pleased with all the details of this figure - especially his teeth, really!
I'm still thinking whether I should get the Ichiban Kuji Sanji to complete the trio. We'll see.
Next is the World Collectable Figure series (Vol 9)
Luffy's rendition of his Jolly Roger flag always makes me giggle, so this is a perfect figure to commemorate the scene in the anime. See how Luffy is excited to begin his maiden voyage to the Grand Line?
Buying loose figures can be problematic because more padding is needed = the heavier the shipping becomes. I feel the deputy guys overdid the padding this time around. I am quite discouraged buying second hand figures from them again.
and hmm, I think I can do with regular SAL next time.
