Title: Graduation
Pairing: Kurt/Puck
Rating: G
Spoilers: Takes place after Sectionals
Summary: Graduation day wasn't a good one for Puck
A/N: I have it that Puck is a grade older than Kurt.

Graduation day, a day usually full of happiness and joy, was not a good day for Noah Puckerman. Then again, his whole senior year was not a good year. He had gotten the ex-head cheerleader pregnant, had lost his popularity, and had lost a lot, if not all, of his friends, his best friend included. There was only one good thing that came out of his senior year, and his name was Kurt Hummel. Kurt, oddly enough, was the only one who stuck by Puck through out everything. They had become friends. They didn’t necessarily hang out on the weekends but they were always there for each other when they were needed. Now though, Puck was leaving and Kurt had another year to go, and both of them would have to do it alone.

When Puck’s name was called, he slowly made his way to get his diploma. He shook the superintendants hand then walked off stage. He didn’t look at his mom, or his sister, instead, he looked at Kurt. Puck saw the tears in Kurt’s eyes and knew that he would be crying soon too. He wasn’t sure when, but some time in the course of their friendship, Kurt had become more than a friend to Puck, not that Kurt knew that. As far as Kurt knew, Puck only saw him as a friend. That small fact made the day worse for Puck because he would leave without ever having the courage to tell Kurt how much he really meant to him.

After Puck handed in his gown and got his real diploma, he had found his mom, sister, Burt, and Kurt standing outside waiting for him. His mother had a handkerchief in her hand and tears still in her eyes. Burt has his arm wrapped around her shoulder and he was glad that someone had been there for her. His little sister wasn’t crying but she was looking at Puck with big eyes and all he could do was hug her. After a few minutes she let go and moved to stand between their mom and Burt. It was in that moment that his mom and sister would be okay because if they needed anything, Burt would be there to take care of them. Then Puck looked over at Kurt.

Kurt had composed himself but Puck could tell that he had been crying. He wasn’t sure how he knew it but he did. Puck couldn’t take his eyes off of Kurt has he closed the distance between himself and Kurt. It was the first time they had ever hugged and Puck was sad that it might be the last for a while. The hug may have lasted longer than most hugs but no one said anything about it. Puck liked the feeling of hugging Kurt and he didn’t want it to end. It was then that Puck knew what he had to do.

Puck turned his head so that his mouth was right by Kurt’s ear. “I love you.” The three words were a lot easier to say than Puck thought they would be.

At first, Kurt said nothing but then he tightened his grip on Puck. “I love you too.”

Graduation day, a day usually full of happiness and joy, was a bittersweet day for Noah Puckerman. The day meant that he could leave Lima and start over but it also meant that he would be leaving Kurt behind.
