A proper update
I thought seeing as Mikaylah has finally gone down for a sleep for the first time today and no one else is here, I may as well do a proper update for the first ime in AGES.
Nothing overly exciting has really happened over the last month.
As I stated in my last post I didn't get that position that I went for at work. I was actually quite happy about not getting it, not because I like my current position (that is definately not the case) but because I was given such good feedback from the guy that interviewed me.
He said that he had spoken to multiple people around the site and they all had very good things to say about me and how well I work and how easy I am to work with, and on that fact alone he wanted to take me on, but because my position requires some scientific, and technical type of background, he believed that even with my knowledge of the products and the company I would struggle a lot with the job and I would hate it.
The best thing about it was when I went back to speak to my supervisor, I had this huge smile on my face, as if I did get the position. He asked me when I would be leaving and of course my answer was no idea not anytime in the near future anyway. He was confused (due to the smiling) and so I explained everything him to him and he was quite happy for me, and also glad that I wasn't going anywhere.
At that time I asked for more work responsibility or something new to learn because I was getting bored with what I had to do, not that I don't want to do it but I want to learn something new, to keep my mind working overtime, but still I am yet to hear anything back from him. I think I will have to hassle him some more on Tuesday when I go back.
Mikaylah, well she is now 7 months old, getting closer to 8 months and she has finally got her first (and second) tooth. They came through a day after the other, and it has been a nightmare ever since. Not because she is screaming all the time because they hurt, but because she doesn't sleep at night. She is sleeping now, like I said at the beginning of this entry, and she will probably sleep until I have to go and pick up Troy and hopefully go back to sleep when we get home, but she will be awake most of the night.
An upside to it is that she lets me sleep, that is until she gets bored of having no one to talk to or play with, so she starts pulling my hair, which of course wakes me up. This usually occurs at 3am!!
I have been listening to all this music that I haven't had too much time to listen to over the last 7 months or so, all because unless Mikaylah is asleep or I am in the car I don't really have anytime to myself these days (which I don't really mind, I would rather have Mikaylah anyday over time to myself) and it has got me thinking about so many things that I wish I could have done different or I could do and other random shit which I am not going to go into, just because I would rather just sit here and stew on it all, hell it might end up coming out in some kind of artwork later on tonight or something god only knows.
Speaking of artwork, I have been quite arty farty lately. I made the christening invitations a couple of weeks ago, and I even designed the stupid candle ($65.90 including postage for a candle that will be used ONCE!) for this christening. I also have been working on a scrapbook for Mikaylah, which I will give to her either at her 18th or 21st birthday, haven't really decided which one it will be for, and by then there will probably be a couple of scrapbooks at the rate that I am making pages for the one I have started now.
I have been thinking about taking a holiday later this month, but with the whole christening and what not I doubt I can fit it in. With the exception of Canberra a couple of weeks ago, and the 4 months I had off work when I had Mikaylah (which definately wasn't a holiday, and although I did go to Tasmania for two weeks during that time) I haven't had a proper holiday since I was in Melbourne in early March last year. But at the same time I think I will save my holidays up and go overseas next year or something like that, I will have to see what happens, but that is currently the plan. I am thinking about the states for a couple of months, but then I was also thinking about an island close to here or something. Might have to discuss that one with Troy at a later date.
Speaking of Troy, things are going ok with us, he is so wonderful with Mikaylah, he absolutely adores her, as any father would. At some stages we have fights, and I end up telling him to fuck off and leave me alone and to get out of my house etc, but I think I would be even more lost if he wasn't here. Our relationship is a bit strange (I won't go into too many details) and he always asks if I still want him around, which of course I do, especially for Mikaylah's sake, but I hope he realises it is all good.
I found out the other week that I am in my friend's bridal party!!! I am so excited. Vicky is one of the only people I still speak to from my time at school, and I thought that because her partner and I don't really like eachother, I would only be invited to the wedding, and she said that she asked him if it was alright with him if I was in the party and he was like yeah that is fine! So I am ever so excited! She said that they are probably going to get married in May next year, so I have plenty of time to lose all the pregnancy weight that I still have to lose, plus a bit extra.
Anyway I am out of things to say, so I guess I will catch up with some or all of you at a later date!
