WHY is bedtime such a struggle lately? Ugh. Veronica is screaming her head off as I type. She is refusing to sleep in her bed. She wants to sleep in the pack n play in our bedroom. I don't know why. It started last week just out of the blue. I don't know if something scared her in her room or what. Just one night she screamed and screamed for 3 hours. We'd rock her to sleep and wait until she was sound asleep and the second we moved to the crib she'd meltdown. We laid her in the PNP and literally she fell over from exhaustion and slept all night. I can't have her in my room. The longer it goes on the harder it will be to break. I've tried the 5 in / 5 out. Man that pisses her off even more. I hate to just let her cry it out, but nothing and I mean NOTHING is working.
Then of course Roni's crying keeps Valerie awake. Poor Val is wanting her 3 bedtime stories, but I have to tend to Veronica.
Clint is on a plane over the ocean. A few days ago there were some changes at work, and he was told he had to go to Aberdeen, Scotland. He wasn't happy about the short notice. He flew from New Orleans to Memphis. Then Memphis to Amsterdam. Then Amsterdam to Aberdeen. He doesn't know how long he will be gone. A while.
*sigh* It's just not a good time for him to be away. Or for me to be alone for weeks.
Veronica had her 18 month well baby visit Monday. She is 33" and 25.5 lbs. I missed her 15 month check up - oops. But my mom had just gotten sick, so I wasn't able to find time make an appointment. The Doc said to start time outs for Roni when she misbehaves. She has to learn that hitting, biting, and throwing things are not acceptable. She whacked the bones on the back of my hand with a metal flag pole the other day. I thought my hand was broken. And Roni laughed and laughed as she took aim to hit me again. She is so sweet and adorable, but yet so horrible when she is bad. I hate to call her bad, but she is something else.
Roni will do things like this literally 15 times in a row. Pull her down and remove her from the room. She laughs as she looks over her shoulder running back to the chair. Laughs and laughs and gets right back up. Over and over. It's the same thing outside. She runs for the street. Or climbs on the swing set platform and tries to jump off. Over and over. Tell her no, she laughs. YELL NO, she laughs. Swat her hand, she laughs and holds out her hand to be hit again. She's constantly getting on my kitchen table. Constantly shaking my baker's rack as hard as she can (which is loaded with cook books and glass.) Geeez do I have to get rid of all my furniture or what!?!
Hmmm all is quiet now. She cried herself to sleep in about 15 minues.
