o great and powerful murphy
twee pig suddenly has a bald spot on her head. off to the vet we go tomorrow morning. mites are the most likely explanation, but it seems a little odd to me that one pig would be miteful and the other not, and she's not scratching very much. i have of course been reading the intarwebs and convinced myself she has ovarian cysts because of her nori-humping habits, but that usually involves hair loss on the pig's sides...not that it means much, but she's acting okay. if anything she is slightly more active and hungry - she came out to eat several times while i was standing next to the cage instead of remaining in a 'loo.
i am going to stop thinking about this until the vet says something.
this is of course right when i bring the car in and they try to charge me $340 to replace the hood latch cable. i suppose it is theoretically possible that the car is so poorly designed it actually takes that much time to replace a $20 part. i also know that i have no way of knowing whether that's true or if they're just trying to fuck with me. maybe dan can jerry-rig something with duct tape like he did last time.
there is a ridiculously cute cat asleep next to me. i wish i could put my head on my feet like that.
