Wednesday night, I attended...a Mary Daly lecture. I will say, she's out there. Really, really out there. But she was fun to listen to. I might not agree with a lot of what she has to say, but I love the way she uses language. She had a book signing afterwards, and I got my Gyn/Ecology signed.
But the lecture was good. She was funny and entertaining, and her ideas weren't too crazy...at least they weren't as crazy as some I've heard here. The next morning, we talked a bit about it in Greek class -- Prof. Seesengood said it was largely a performance piece.
We had a really great New Testament class yesterday morning. This is the class that I hate doing the work for (because by and large, it's pointles) but I almost always enjoy class. We talked about the paradoxes in the gospel of Mark and how the author intentionally juxtapositioned them. Mark is a gospel of irony...it was pretty cool.
