- books:
I've always read a lot - mostly books of the fantasy/science fiction persuasion. Unfortunately, I'm a slow reader. - composing music:
This is one thing I'm interested in, but don't do well. I wish I had taken some more theory courses in college to help this. I had one composition that I really liked in theory I, but somehow it got deleted. Perhaps when I get better on the guitar I can start playing around with some chord progressions and melody lines or something. - emerging church:
A recent interest of mine, thanks to conversations with Ben. It's deals the church in relation to the postmodern world -- how can we make worship accessible and meaningful to people who identify with a more postmodern philosophy? Worship usually entails more tangible images, more meditative silence, a focus on the community, more liturgy, etc... - harry potter:
Ok. I cried at the end of book 6...I admit it. - knitting:
I like knitting, but I can't do it well. So far, I've done a lot of scarves, but I'm looking to do something a bit more adventurous this winter. Perhaps a hat? Mittens? More elaborate scarves? - making fun of tourists:
There's this one turn by my house where if people go left instead of right, it means they're a tourist. And it's funny.
At least Maine doesn't get tourists Disneyland-style. If it did, I might have to consider not retiring there in 50 years. - primes:
Who doesn't like prime numbers? The mysteries of the universe are locked within its patterns...
Essentially, I'm just a big math geek - forgive me. But primes are way cool. I mean, numbers that don't have any other divisors other than itself and 1? Oh wait...that's not the actual definition...and me without my number theory book.....shoot.... - social principles:
The good ol' UMC has these social principles that are like official church statements on different things. Statements on gambling or corporations or the worth of single people. They're pretty cool. - thunderstorms:
I like them during the day and not when there's a chance of me getting hit by lightning (a silly big fear of mine from when I was a wee little one....I was too smart for my own good back then and knew what could happen if you got struck.) They're definitely more enjoyable with other people around...especially if they get too scary. - Φ:

The golden ratio. It has to do with...ratios. Like if you wanted to find the point on a line segment that made the ratio of the short line segment it created to the other piece of the line segment equal to the ratio between that other piece of the line segment and the original line segment. Take my word for it: it's cool.
