Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

First off, let me admit something - I love the snow.  I was ridiculously happy when it started to snow last Sunday.  I did a little dance, jumped up and down, I'm sure it was pretty cute.  I continued that little dance/hop/skip thing when it snowed again the next day.  On Tuesday, Pete went to work, and I mostly stared out the window and enjoyed the snow.  It was so exciting - it never snows in Oregon.  Well, it does, but only a little tiny bit.  Just enough to barely cover the ground.  It snowed on Christmas last year, which was huge.  Again, just a little bit, but everyone took pictures, and they called it White Christmas '07.

However, it has now been snowing for almost ten days.  It took a break on Friday, and another small break today.  Pete and I live on the valley floor, where it gets the *least* amount of snow, and we have well over a foot of snow.  Since Oregon is so ill equipped to handle this, nothing has been plowed or salted or graveled, and businesses have been shut down for over a week.  Pete hasn't been to work since Thursday, although he has tried.  We did leave the apartment on Friday to do a little Christmas shopping, but now it's two days 'til Christmas, and I have been unable to leave again to finish it.

TWO DAYS 'TIL CHRISTMAS!  I need to be done!  Things need to be wrapped!  And they're not!

So right now, my dad is braving the snow in his large truck, to come get me so we can finish shopping.  This, however, is normal for Dad.  Actually, that's not true.  He usually saves all his shopping until Christmas Eve.  Afternoon.  So really, he'll be done early, and I'll be done late.  I guess that evens it out.

dad, christmas, snow
