Well I'm back at University now hence the lack of updates recently! It's been going great so far.
I joined the women's rugby union team and whilst I'm absolutely terrible at it I'm having a brilliant time. I'm glad I've started taking part in a sport though it's a shame it's two years too late. Anyhow, I gain muscle quickly and my legs are already starting to beef up! Tonight is the rugby 'Fresher's Party', an ominous night to be sure. I'm just not looking forward to dying. To be perfectly honest, I'm not going to let myself get that bad - I'm 21 in about three weeks and I'm big enough and ugly enough to know when to stop.
Lectures are going fine and dandy; my dissertation lectures on the First Crusade are pretty cool though we have a test on referencing next week *sigh* I hate referencing, partly because it's so dull and partly because I get confused. Each essay of mine seems to show a different referencing system! I was also advised by my professor to get a book from the library called 'Chronologie de la Premiere Croisade' where I was assured that whilst the title is in French, there was also some German content in it (I can read German). So I took the book out today, flicked through it...All 340 pages are in French!
Another lecture I'm taking is on Western political history which my boyfriend keeps trying to tell me is immensely boring (he does Politics) but I'm finding it really fun. He wants me to change to one of the modules he's doing on European security after 1945 (i.e the Cold War) but you have to go into debating groups. I don't debate, I argue. Violently. I've realised I can't debate. So I think I'm going to stick with the political history course.
I need to start applying for masters courses soon as well.
