News on the job(s) front

Busy busy. I started my new job on Monday which has two weeks of full-time training - this is making me very tired. I'm trying this new thing where I get 8 hours of sleep a night instead of my normal 5 - 6. I'm hoping it will increase my energy level, especially since things are really busy with my other job right now too. I can't believe there is only 12 days until we launch the website. I think the blog for that site should be up and running soon which I will be in charge of for a while. I've had lots of other ideas for the site too including a book club where we cover about 4 books a year (every three months). I'm going to pick the first book - it will either be The End of Food or The Weather Makers and after that viewers can make suggestions and then vote on the book they want to do - obviously it has to fit with the theme of the site and not be the latest Grisham novel. I chose those books because they tie-in with the documentary I am working on and because both authors are going to be part of the documentary (and because I have read them both already which will make it easier for me to moderate).

Other good things: It takes me less than 10 minutes to leave my house and arrive at my desk at my new job - and that includes waiting at the lights. This is something that is probably unheard of anywhere else in Calgary considering the urban sprawl and how most people have to commute for a long time.

I come home for lunch!
