the_sun_is_up asked me:
*pokepoke* Tell us your Thoughts On Yaoi! (No really, how do you feel about boy-slash? Intrigued? Grossed out? Deafened by the screams of the fangirls? Do tell!)
I really don't give a care. It doesn't disgust me unless it's explicit, in which case it's about as unpleasant to me as any other kind of hardcore pornography (which is actually

You're not the only one! I like yaoi, but I still get annoyed when I go looking for fanart and find umpteen billion pictures of Random Slash Crackship #459 and no yuri. Cater to my needs, fandom! Cater!
Btw, as for why I asked the question: Most straight male fans I've come across have a tendency to run screaming and weeping in the opposite direction at the mere suggestion that, say, Batman and Robin might be more than just friends. So I was curious to see if you were one of those. ;)

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE
I don't personally feel that that's the case with Batman and Robin, and it squicks me a little because of the paederasty that would be involved. But I can't deny that, for example, Captain America and Iron Man seem at times to have something very special going on. So, no, I'm not one of those. Yaoi just isn't relevant to my interests most of the time, positively or negatively.
Anubituf/Guragief is, of course, an exception.

It's not so much that I think people are automatically adverse to het/yuri as it is that canon has to really push a het/yuri ship on fans in order for them to see it. Whereas, for some reason, people will see and slash any yaoi for the sole virtue of it being yaoi. They'll ship mortal enemies. They'll ship characters who never met. They'll ship crack!ships. And it doesn't have to make sense. Which is fine, I guess (because people don't have to cater to my wants, you know). But gah. Where are the crack!ship yuri pairings?
