So BU orientation went well! I realy liked the campus, the students, the faculty, and the city itself. First of all, my Dean of Communications is a political advertising expert! I spoke to the Study Abroad agent and mentioned my interests in political advertising and it turns out he studied under the Dean and went into the field and loved his job (and not to mention made a ton of money). He told me that I was the "one student a year that I get really excited about". SO basically I'm my Dean's dream student because the interest in political advertising is so low, I'm so dedicated, and I actually have political experience!

I made a lot of really cool friends, from crazy Romanians to Farsi-speaking Iranians to Midwestern girls with great accents and even better slang. My class schedule is as follows;

COM 101 Way of the World - Schulz = Basic Communications class that all Commies have to take.

ES 101 Dynamic Earth - Marchant = One science credit out of the way, apparently the teacher is AMAZING.

WR 100 Americans in Paris - Kent = Basically the course is about the Lost Generation of writers, American writers who fled in the 1920s and 1930s to Paris and delved into taboo subjects. I actually read James Baldwin's "Giovanni's Room" before, so I was understandably intrigued

HI 101 Dawn of Europe - Backman = From antiquity to the Renaissance, everything that happened before my AP Euro class is taught. This teacher is supposed to be really great too, I'm very excited.

My only issue with the Orientation was one minor social occurrence my friend Alex and I hung out with these really nice guys Ian and Zach. Basically we talked and tossed a frisbee around until 3 AM. Long story short, I got kissed. It wasn't terrible, but I'm still not over Devin. We've broken up ("it's complicated" in Facebook terms), but I really don't want anyone else but him to be holding me and kissing me right now. My heart is lonely for him, and for good reason: I love him and spent half a year doing so. I saw him last Sunday, and now I'm in Vermont. I don't think I'm ready for anyone brand new right now. I mean, if certain people on the Euro trip seem interested, I could certainly be amendable to such charms. But for now, I miss my tall Irishman who isn't even mine anymore. At least I have a really awesome class schedule to comfort myself with.

Anyways, have a cheerful summer until I post again!
