Brumby = goooooorne but will Baillieu do any better or do we not really care as long as Brumby is not our Premier for another three years?

ETA 11.50PM: So I posted this soon after Antony Green made his first "A Liberal Government is likely" prediction on the ABC. What do we think now? Hung parliament or will Baillieu win government?

I think it depended on the weather - no-one really cared either way, and bad weather made people grumpy and damp, so they voted against the incumbents. Sunny day, they would have voted for them.

Probably not, but animal welfare is screwed now. Greens/Labor were the only ones that had a backbone and were going to start cracking down on BYB's and mills.

Also, the libs are going to make Easter Sunday a trading day so shops will be able to open. Labor was going to keep Easter Sunday as a non-trading day and make ANZAC day a full day non-trading day, instead of the 'you can open after 1pm' thing...

I dunno, I really don't think there is going to be a great deal of difference between the two, but I would like them to start paying attention to areas outside of the CBD...we do exist and that's why Labor have lost, for to many years they have ignored regional areas and now they are getting screwed.

Yeah, it was Kennett who fucked over the regional areas, but it's not like Labor ever bothered to fix any of it.

Then we'll open Christmas Day as well. I think even the non-religious folk (I'm atheist btw!) would get pissed about not having a day off on Christmas Day.

It's either all, or none for me.

I'm finishing this bottle of wine because this makes me sad*, not because I'm celebrating.

I didn't vote for Labor, however the prospect of a Liberal state government fills me with distress.

I think a lot of people are sick of having a Premier that they didn't vote for. And the fact that Brumby built a pipeline that took water from the Goulburn Valley that desperately needed it.

This. Having lived in the GV for nearly 20 years, they *need* water to survive. Melbourne don't need water, they can live without green lawns and live with dirty cars.

Sorry we don't live in the USA. No-one here (outside of their own electorate) votes for a Premier.

Technicalities. People vote for an 'image' even if they're not actually voting in the premier themselves.
