Did they start airing Hex again? Warning: most of the stuff you like about the show, except Thelma (also my fave element), changes after ep 5 or 6 (there was a short series of around 5 episodes, followed by another season of 13ish episodes). I think they aired 9 of the existing 18 episodes during the summer season. The show really goes downhill once they change its format in the second season, and lots of cool plot threads that they set up in the first few episodes are completely dropped.
But don't smack me if I say that I thought that the intro of Ella (and the focal shift from Cassie to Ella) is where the show went downhill. They stopped exploring things like the history of the school and Cassie's ties to it, and jumped into Ella The Nephilim Slayer, which they seemed to be making up as they went along. I really don't think they should have killed Cassie off, but I assume that she wanted off the show after they decided to retool it and change its direction for the second season. Its ratings were never that high, so that was probably a survival attempt. Which didn't work because it was cancelled after S2 - and it ends on a cliffhanger! *sigh*
anyway, they'll show the latter 2/3 of S2 next summer. the first episode with Ella - the one after Cassie has the fake abortion - is the first ep of the second season.
yeah, i was disappointed that cassie died. and actually quite shocked. i figured since there was at least "another season" (as advertised by bbc america) that she would remain a part of the show. i enjoyed the whole love/tension thing btwn cassie and thelma and i think they should have took that a step further.. not necessarily have them sleep together.. but it seemed to be going somewhere (with the headmaster dude wondering if cassie would end up with girls or boys) and that just completely kind of died. or got brushed under the rug (as far as cassie was concerned
( ... )
