Hello, people on the internets! How are you? I am okay! I decided to give myself a few days off from writing/the internet on account of I felt as though I were fast approaching the zone of burn-out, which is a place of great sadness and little productivity, and thus understandably unappealing.

Things I have done: read most of the TNG novel Death ( Read more... )

AS I ONCE SAID ON TWITTER (MORE OR LESS), man I want that fic to exist so much. (It is not cool at all, no.)

I ALSO AGREE WITH YOUR FINAL STATEMENT/QUESTION.

So not cool! I do not know why this fic does not already exist. (Although I am half-afraid that if it did exist, it would be a straight-up comedy, with no serious bits at all.)

I ALSO do not know why where_no_woman is not flooded with fic/art/picspams!

every day I think TODAY WILL BE THE DAY I GET A PENNY ICON and then i can never find one ;___; peri_peteia June 21 2009, 04:29:48 UTC
(And then everyone would tag it CRACK. The end.)

I keep wanting to write JOANNA fic and WINONA fic and also someday finish this fic about Nyota, an away team, and a planet ruled by ladies that I have written like 1500+ words of (i-it was the first Trek fic I started?!) BUT MY HEAD IS ALL AFLUTTER AND I CANNOT GET ANYTHING DONE AND SO I AM SAD.

Of course, there is a macro for this situation!

That is an excellent and highly appropriate macro!

omg, Death in Winter is TOTALLY fanfic, although I must say it is thus far disappointing me severely in the emotional wallowing department. (I have needs! Ridiculous needs!) BUT, like you, I am willing to forgive so, so much if the endgame is Picard/Crusher, FINALLY. Not that I've waited twenty-one years for Picard and Crusher to hook up for real (or as real as novel canon gets) or anything. (I have.)

Oh god, I love poorly written Trek novels. I could never get into the TNG ones (aside from this, which I used to love) but I definitely went through a phase last summer where I reread all my favorite Voyager and DS9 books. I find it super upsetting that the newest Voyager book is ruined by the fact that it acknowledges Janeway's death. :(

ALSO, I LIKE THAT FIC-THING A LOT, it would be ace if you/someone elaborated on it.

Ugh, FUCK PETER DAVID, that is all I can say. It's like everywhere I turn these days, he's there ruining all the things I love. (Things Peter David has destroyed like he's some kind of radioactive monster that has risen from the sea with the sole purpose of annihilating joy: Kathryn Janeway, scans_daily, my love of and respect for his work on "Young Justice.")

Anyway, I def. enjoyed Full Circle and I respect Beyer's efforts to make sense of the ridiculous mess the TNG and crossover writers made of the Voyager crew, and I am grateful to her for actually affording Janeway's passing a modicum of respect, something no other author bothered to do, because Voyager is the unwanted and forgotten child of the Star Trek universe. But my enjoyment of FC and the anticipation I feel for the next Voyager book are tempered by the fact that Peter David is a jerk and Janeway is dead (and never coming back, THANK YOU, PETER DAVID, for rubbing that delightful salt/citrus mixture in while the wound was still fresh; it is much appreciated ( ... )

UGH IKR, I HATE HIM. I can't believe that he ruined all future Voyager books like that and ugh the fact that he obviously hates her/Voyager makes me SO UPSET, WHAT GIVES HIM THE RIGHT (you have to say it like Capt. Robau p.s.) TO DO THAT TO PEOPLE WHO LIKE/D THE SHOW? I DO NOT BLAME YOU FOR THE SWEARING/VOWING TO DESTROY PETER DAVID THOUGH. I cannot see straight whenever I think about it, JANEWAY WAS MY CHILDHOOD HERO, I DRESSED UP AS HER FOR HALLOWEEN WHEN I WAS LIKE 8, he can't just kill her off in a retarded/lame way just because he doesn't like her IN A TNG BOOK.

>:( I couldn't get past the intro of Full Circle and I pretty much had a rage blackout in the bookstore where I was reading it, sadly. I've heard good things about it and I kind of want to try again to read it (it's either that or the Terek Nor DS9 books, I'm still deciding) but it just makes me so upset!

I have nothing I feel I can say on your ficthing, but I read it and - well enjoy is probably the wrong word.

Which is to say, ha ha McCoy called Spock a green-blooded hobglobin, what a hilarious jerk that McCoy is, but, uh, that is kind of not cool.

Thank you! I'm glad it worked for you, as unpolished as it is.
