Pet Peeve 1034: When people attempt to put the idea of spirituality into one's head.
If it truly is spiritual, some greater connection then the person will figure it out on their own ... thats what turned me off from religion people suggesting it to me ... maybe its God or some higher power .. well that sound rediculous why should i listen to these Bible beaters. And thats why i am starting to thank about it again .. b/c no ones telling me what to believe and as much as you may deny it, telling someone that it may be spiritual is the beginning of telling them what to believe, they may not even think of something as spiritual and when you jump to that conclusion for them you take away the learning and even put them against the idea. Music is allowing me to explore my relationship with spirituality, which is untimatly personal, no one can tell you what to think which is why i dont like organized religion so much ... i want something that will make me think, not something that will help me think in a cetian way .. and thats all christiantiy seems to be able to do, tell people how to think ... even nondenominational stuff .. then its just like "look at us we love jesus because we interpret the Bible this way and if you dont interpret it this way youre going to hell because you can't read." Youre not thinking for yourself so dont even try and tell me that you are .. the pastor or who ever says something and you nod you dont think ...
wow this turned into a rant very quickly .. well i dont care i stand by it .. i may come back to organized religion at some point .. i enjoy services because i enjoy experiancing that community and that feeling whatever it may be ... but the idea of being in a church because these people believe the same as me .. just such a stagnent way of thinking.
