The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ("Men Who Hate Women" is the original title, interesting to reconsider that in terms of marketing, as well as what it does to reader's expectations).

Holy shit, why did I wait so long to see that movie? I'm searching for the sequel...and then definitely going through the third one if I can get my grubby hands on it too.

It's kind of funny how when I watched Salt I was thinking oh my god this is SO boring Salt herself is completely uninteresting...I have no clue how they'll deliver a franchise based on her as a hero. And this was a total contrast--as it was ending, I was feeling down (not knowing there was more) because Lisbeth such a compelling character and I wanted to see more of her (in fact, I felt that the movie felt more about using the plot to build her character than about the central mystery).

So yay \o/ awesome-sauce. Anyway I think TigerBeatdown's review (I suspect the books not the movie, but I might be wrong) was not very favorable (because of the violence done to women), but Jack Halberstam has a very incisive review of it titled The Girl Who Played With Queer Utopia.

I heard Daniel Craig is going to be in the (sanitized) American remake and Ellen Page, Carey Mulligan, Emma Watson and KStew are mentioned as possibles for Lisbeth. It'll be interesting to see who gets it (haha as long as it's not Angelina Jolie, lol)
