Warning: this might be a long post.
I wanted to have an entry about BTS and how I became a fan (finally!) but i was so lazy to pour all my thoughts here about it, it's all over the place. so forgive me if this entry also feels like it's just a collection of random thoughts about them.
I am incoherent in expressing what I feel, and what I really wanted to say.
i also don't know where to start. if you've stumbled upon this blog before, and have read my older posts (entries from years ago) you should know by now that i am a FANGIRL (as in extreeeeeme), i have been a fan of different groups (first kpop group i became a fan of was TVXQ, i started this livejournal account around the time i was so obsessed with Super Junior, then i liked CNBLUE when i was an avid fan of yongseo in WGM, then became a fan of Shinhwa when I saw them in Running Man back in 2013, whew! that was my kpop fangirl journey XP) and then eventually i stopped kpop fangirling at the time it has become 'mainstream' or already well-known among locals here in our country. when i was an active kpop fangirl, they call us 'weird' for liking music that they say 'we don't understand' (uhhhh there's an available translation if you search on the internet?? hello??) i stopped listening to new kpop releases and stick to the kpop songs i knew from the past and listen to more opm & western music.
i knew about BTS of course, i'm very familiar with them as a group, but idk the members individually, i didn't bother to check them out before. and this is my biggest mistake XD i admit. why didn't i bother to pay attention to them?? because they're popular? oh i'm such a hipster. just kidding :P anyways, i have already talked about them with my friend when they are still not popular globally (around 2014? i think) one of my friends, who i went to the cnblue concert on 2013, is already a fan of them since pre-debut. she was telling me about BTS and i even call them bangtan boys :)))) but she wasn't able to recommend some content of them which i can watch, and at that time i have just started falling in love with shinhwa and watching their various variety shows appearances (i tell you i easily become a fan of a group if i watch them goofing around in a variety/reality show more than seeing their MV or hearing their song lol)
so there wasn't a chance for me to become a bts fan that time. also another reason why i didn't bother to check them out: they are so much younger than me 🥲 sorry i know this is not right. why didn't i give them a chance just because i'm too old :))))) this prejudice is so wrong and i've been regretting it big time. but maybe the time i discovered them was the right time for me to be a fan. haha! another friend has been saying that to me, when i just started watching bts content, she told me that you'll find bts when you need them. :)))) maybe that's true. becoming a fan has been such a great help for me, at least on how i look at life. (no matter how i've rant here before of how i was having such a hard time, spending time on fangirling over BTS helps me a lot to not overthink too much)
okay... i already blabbered too much. back to the story on how i discovered them.
i said this before from one of my previous blog entries, i'm not the type to be influenced easily or convinced to be a fan of something by shoving it to my face repeatedly. let me discover it on my own. that's how i became a fan of BTS. i didn't pay attention that much to them even when i always see them trending on twitter, i focus on other things. but thank you to the late late show with james corden's segment of carpool karaoke (2020). i decided to check them out myself.

and man man, they were so adorable!!!!! OMG!! why did i ignore these beautiful charming boys before??? the episode was so fun! all of them have their own charm and i can't remember how many times i've watched this carpool karaoke. i have been watching the other carpool karaoke with other artists, but this one with BTS easily became my favorite. even when i'm not familiar with their songs. i enjoyed it so much. i even tweeted about this (but my tweet was deleted sadly idk what happened)
i said that even when i don't stan them, that is my favorite carpool karaoke episode ever. it was so fun. and i immediately checked out their songs featured on that ep in spotify and added it to my playlist. i can't get enough of them so i started watching other videos of them on youtube. and i wanted to see more of them doing more of carpool karaoke so i've seen a compilation of them singing while driving. i was curious what was show was that and i searched for it, finding out it was in Bon Voyage Season 4, i decided to watch that starting from season 1 and the rest is history. i've been in love with them eversince.
okay, i wanna talk more about the things i loved about them but there's a loooooooot. so i might save it for another entry. heh.
Happy 9th year anniversary, BTS!!! i just wished i have discovered you guys earlier, but i am also very happy that in 2020 i found you and finally became a fan💜
and leaving this quote said by yoongi before:
"Don’t feel regretful that you weren't there since our debut..because every moment feels just like when we first debuted. The day when you first met us, is the day we debuted."
