More from storytime with Riley

Every night Riley and I read books, and then I turn on her music player when I leave.
Tonight, we read one of those books with musical buttons.

Most of the buttons made sense to me: the feather equaled a tickling noise; the banana made a slipping sound; and the cat meowed. But when we got to a sailboat, it played a jaunty little tune. Not a nautical ditty. Just a happy song. It got me scratching my head, which always annoys her when I stop reading to ponder dumb things like meaning.

Me: What the heck does a sailboat have to do with music?
Ri: Hello. Pirates have CD players to play music when they go to sleep at night.
