fall season swinging into action

So the boyfriend's uni department has a 3D printer which he got introduced to and taught how to use last week. "So if you ever think of anything you need from that, let me know," he said excitedly. "I don't even have to ask permission!"

And I'm sitting here going, look, I'm still amazed by and learning to reap the benefits of DVR, okay? After years in college and law school without a TV (except for that summer and semester I was subletting), I didn't even have TV, much less cable. Now there's cable! Now there's things I want to watch on TV -- and I can record it to watch later if I miss it! Maybe the indication of how old I'm getting is what a revelation technology that's ten years into common use is to me. Amazing, though.

(We can now 3D print organs. That is absolutely mind-boggling.)

Speaking of TV, though, Fresh Off the Boat Season 2 premiers tomorrow night! And I'm excited for the Huangs, particularly, Jessica, back on my TV. Other shows I'm looking forward to: Elementary of course (I dream that we'll get Moriarty again this season) and Galavant for the mid-season break. I'm so excited that Galavant was unexpectedly renewed. Fairy tale pastiches with singing! Songs with clever lyrics! Everything I love. That soundtrack remains glorious.

Preseason hockey back in session today, with Canes @ Caps and me bemoaning the fact I'm no longer in DC, because otherwise i would be there at the Verizon Center for this game for sure. NFL continues apace and the Panthers, mediocre as they are, are probably my least awful team right now. Oh Liverpool. Oh Canes.

I promise a post about books I've been reading soon. I've been reading so much. Libraries! Glorious.

sometimes i watch tv, is this the reality you wanted?
