Time! At last!
I want to give a conclusion to what I’ve started, so here is yukihiro’s interview.
I’m working hard on ken’s, but it seems there’s a point I can’t get over.
Too bad my Japanese is so poor >_<

The fact that hyde answered only 13 questions while yukihiro 25 gives an idea of how much yukki is talkative XD

Here it is.

As usual, even about kanji, he’s short. Generally, he answers only what he’s asked, and of course, no extra talk. For this reason, I feel that in his words you can perceive the truth inside him. Just before the return of L’Arc~en~Ciel, on 24th December, at 1 p.m., here are the feelings of the current real yukihiro.

---Now you are completely on L’Arc~en~Ciel mode?

y„Yes, since when I’ve started playing drums. Until now, I’m doing live rehearsal.

---With feeling like: “Finally”?

y„More than “Finally”, with feeling like: “the time of promise has come”.

---It seems: “When the time has come, I can switch over with a snap”

y„But maybe the fact there’s a live was a big thing. And as solo, I don’t play drums very often. As L’Arc~en~Ciel, I’m the drummer. When I play a lot, I become that naturally.

---Typical of yukihiro-san, isn’t it? Well, is it because the fact that L’Arc~en~Ciel will restart after the live, is a good thing?

y„How to say? If I don’t give it a go, I can’t understand. But I don’t know how to do the countdown and the countup during the live.

---Is there a particular reason?

y„I’ve made it once before, but I don’t know with what kind of tension I can do the live. But, since I want to make it a success, for now, I’m practicing with drums.

---Concretely, what?

y„First of all, since the end of October, I’ve reset the drum set I have at home. When at home, about 2 or 3 hours, when I’ve entered the rehearsal studio, 4 or 5 hours. I’m playing drums every day.

---When you are setting the drum set at your place, do you think: “I look forward to playing with it”, or “it will be hard”?

y„Now I have mainly this feeling: “I must arrange it properly” (laugh).

---Ahahahahah. Like: “With it, I can play the drums with all my strength, yeah”

y„It’s very hard for me to go on practicing.

---You often say that you play 5 hours a day. Does it mean that you feel a big pressure?

y„Of course, there is pressure.

---It’s like that for live, too, but when you start working, probably hectic days start.

y„But for now I must practise with drums and be ready.

---Well, now you’re in these feelings, do you feel you are heading for what is after?

y„I feel again : “I wonder how I’ll take myself to such motivation”. It has really just begun. This time, in particular, I felt as if several things have started all of a sudden. A lot of time: “Eh, even this? Eh even that?”

---Starting to work, towards L’Arc~en~Ciel, do you feel any change inside yourself? I mean, you are aware of.

y„How to say it? I’m probably doing something with awareness, but probably something without awareness. So, even if you ask me: “Have you changed?”, I don’t know.

---Well, simply, from last time 3 years have passed. Now L’Arc~en~Ciel is starting. In this situation, for instance, while playing drums, I thought you might have noticed something once again. Not only changes, things like: “Ah, this song was like that”.

y„Even about this thing, since I’ve recently started to work, I don’t know, maybe. I haven’t catch up with my purpose very much. Now again I’ll try in regard to what I’ve decided, and I’ll do it properly. Because the start is from here.

---It’s still rehabilitation time, isn’t it? But this means that, since it’s your thing, if you don’t feel like it, you won’t absolutely do it.

y„Ahahahahahah, it’s so.

---By the way, have you any image of a “good live”?

y„ Let me think. Ah, on the last day of “TOUR 2008 L’7 ~Trans ASIA via PARIS~” I was perfect (laugh). I could think: “I can even finish to play music after this”.

---Did you perceive it as an achievement? Like perhaps you can’t top it?

y„I think that it’s because it was exactly the time I started holidays, and a lot of things were piling up, but at that time I had the impression I had been able to reach maybe the complete combustion. Of course, until that moment, many times I did a live I thought to be the best. But every time there’s a live, I think: “Maybe there won’t be a next one”, and I plan to face it being ready for it.

---This means that the “next one” is going to start now? Moreover, it’s 20th anniversary in formation for L’Arc~en~Ciel.

y„It’s incredible. Because there was a reason to go on that much. But I’m only in about half of L’Arc~en~Ciel’s history.

---This will be your 13th year.

y„Is that so?... quite a long time (laugh)

---Is important the fact that, after all, the band is going on for a long time?

y„I think it’s a good thing, after all. If it can go on, it would better go on. But if I have a sense of active service.

--- A sense of active service?

y„I mean to have a sense of active service from a personal viewpoint more than from the band viewpoint. I think that, when the impression of active service will disappear, even if it will go on further, there is nothing to do. But I think that when each one is making his best, it comes out.

---When the activity starts in full scale, do you have an image ahead?

y„ Yes, vaguely. I think that I gradually enter also into the process of song composition, and slowly I can image it.

---For example, about song composition, when it’s your turn to make a song for L’Arc~en~Ciel, are you aware of it?

y„ Since probably each member has his favourite sound on different occasion, I think it appears. I probably make with more awareness the songs for my solo work. When in L’Arc~en~Ciel, I often take [songs?] without elaborate [them] too much stiffly. After all, since hyde-kun is also doing the vocal, he can reach point I can’t reach, and when it happens, things like the tune of the song become completely different. Ken-can and tetsuya-kun, too, are really amazing artists.

---You are 4 people, and since this means that the personality and ability pushed out of each one are gathering, there is an absolute interest, as if a chemical change is happening there. Furthermore, it can maybe become the motivation to head for L’Arc~en~Ciel.

y„So think I. But I think it’s hard. After all, L’Arc~en~Ciel is a big thing.

--- A big thing?

y„Because after all, it’s not something someone can move alone. Even for this live (20th L’Anniversary Starting Live “L’A HAPPY NEW YEAR !”) since the beginning of December, booking a rehearsal studio, a lot of people are moving for it. Like: “Eh, so many!?”. I think it’s amazing. When I think of it, I must reward them with all my might
