It's official: my grampa has Alzheimers/dementia. He got the diagnosis from the doctor, and has since stopped eating. He won't do anything besides sleep. He won't go out of the house because he doesn't want people to see him. I don't understand why things like this happen. I like the idea of an all-loving, all-powerful God, but in cases like this, it's hard to believe. I'm not a religious person, but it's nice to think there's someone watching out for us. But who's watching out for my grampa? My grampa, who is a former marine, fought in WWII, has 4 children, 5 grandchildren, worked at GE his whole life, where's his justice? Why don't things like this happen to people who deserve it? Kidnappers, child molesters, murderers, they should be the ones bad things happen to; but for some reason it just doesn't seem to work out that way.

I'm so afraid he'll forget who I am.
