So, I'm between jobs again - the previous one finished early due to the boss (who was the last permanent member of staff) finding herself another job. Jobseeking is a fun process. Really. I've sort of got into the swing of it by now - I run through the jobs available on Seek.com.au each Monday, and submit my resume and a cover letter to the ones which look good. Then I sit back and wait for the replies, which come in on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. ( Read more... )

Well, I yam employed again. I start work on Wednesday, at 8.45am. This is going to require a lot of backtracking and padding to figure out when I have to be up in the morning, and how much housework I can or can't get done before then. I'm writing this through dialup. To someone who's been on broadband for at least a year now, this is a terrible imposition, although it's only temporary. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be getting a nyetwork PCMCIA card for the lapdog, which will allow me to plug it into the ADSL router (this lapdog has a phone port, but no nyetwork port...).
