Hello again everyone. I'm the one who can't ever seem to keep track of time and by the time I know it, months have flown right by. It's all rather quite the blur, but, I do apologize for disappearing. I come bearing news of many kinds.
First and foremost, the
DMG has released several new titles onto eManga. I currently own them all and plan to eventually review them on an upcoming site I'll be opening for the sake of reviewing all things printed relating to yaoi, boys love and gay-erotica stuff. However, I'll give each one a quick shout out here too.
Boys Love Bang Bang's release of
Healing Music by Tatsumi Kaiya was made available earlier this month. It's the story of a pianist and a piano tuner with a few other oneshots. It's a very cute read.
Phileas J Fogg Group's release of
The Color of the Clear Blue Sky by Momoko Tenzen was made available by the DMG a few days after Healing Music. The story revolves around an aspiring teacher's life as he gets a position as an assistant teacher, meeting with the very same teacher who inspired him to become one. Sparks fly as admiration evolves to love between the two.
Mi-3's release of
Attacked on a Tiger's Whim by Mario Yamada was made available earlier this week. The story revolves around Tomoya, currently a host, who gets a visit from a man in his past after several years of no contact whatsoever. After a few traumatizing events with this man, Tomoya's heart is slowly captured, but the man refuses to tell Tomoya anything of his past.
Cynical Pink's release of
The Rule of Standing on Tiptoe by Puku Okuyama was also made available earlier this week. The story is light and fairly fluffy, about Kousuke and the new kid in class.
Give them all a read. Wonderful works released after several long hours of hard work by the individuals of each group. If you ever want to see these in print, let them know by getting yourself a digital copy. Many thanks to the manga-kas for their awesome stories, the DMG groups for their hard work and the DMG for allowing us an opportunity to read it in English.
Also, recently available on eManga.com,
Seven Days: Friday - Sunday by Venio Tachibana/Rihito Takarai (the sequel to Seven Days: Monday - Thursday),
Sky Link by Shiro Yamada (for anyone who wanted to know how the story concludes from Bliss' release of the first two chapters) and
Butterfly of the Distant Day by Tooko Miyagi (a spinoff sequel to Il Gatto Sul G, featuring Saki, Riya's cousin).
That's it for releases. Now, I'll move onto some new licensing information and/or news in general. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to Yaoi-Con this year, but I've been following as closely as I can.
For all those curious, Digital Manga has FINALLY
announced the license of Only the Ring Finger Knows volume 5 by Satoru Kannagi and Hotaru Odagiri.
They've also stated getting it for Ai no Kusabi 5 and 6 (although I thought they already had it, so I'm somewhat confused at this).
The DMG has also announced releasing light novels as projects coming in November as well. This should be extremely interesting, as I hope it means a faster rate of releasing for them (although I would love to see them all in actual print form at some point).
Viz has also declared opening up a Boys' Love/Yaoi imprint. It's titled
SuBLime Manga, and Jennifer LeBlanc, owner of The Yaoi Review, is heading up that department (I believe).
I think that's about it. I've also been slowly, ever so slowly, working on the community I had promised. It's currently under moderated (for the sake that I'd like to try to get some things in it before I open it publicly). So, if a few of you would like to jump at the chance to get some content up on it, feel free to join at
boyslovetalk.
