My new habits didn't fully kick off until January 3rd - I gave myself New Year's to enjoy and then the day after that to ease into some new routines.
I'm back on South Beach diet and have been pleasantly surprised by how EASY it has been so far! I think a lot of it had to do with changing my mindset about how I was eating. Over the last couple months, I just ate whatever. Lots and LOTS of sweets, especially, and I fell off the bandwagon with my exercise routine. That's a recipe for disaster, right? So, after I enjoyed my second day of mixed berry scones with clotted cream for breakfast on January 2nd, I got busy with meal planning and routine planning. And so far, so good! I'm cooking healthy meals, preparing healthy snacks, and finding myself satisfied rather than hungry. I've only lost 5 pounds but that's a good start!
My routine planning has to do with my mornings. My work week starts back up again tomorrow so I've been slowly easing myself into waking early, exercising, and reading. I've also found a few times when I can spend some time reflecting, journaling, and praying. It's been so good. I've felt myself becoming more in tune with my own feelings so I could then be in tune with how my family is feeling. I'm more patient and undestanding. I don't feel so tense all the time. But..... work hasn't started again so we'll see how it goes! ;-)
I'm also back to bullet journaling and just regular journaling. I'm using a journal with prompts to help me get ideas out and reflect on my goals and aspirations. And for bullet journaling, I'm combining ALL my areas of life into ONE journal rather than bouncing between three (confusing!). Anyway... I'm excited!
And I'm actually excited to get back to my regular routine tomorrow!
