Other Challenges

Challenges have become a fun word for me lately! On Instagram, I participated in a handwriting challenge with my friend Megan. I had attempted similar challenges back in April and May but didn't follow through because I got busy. Having a friend participating in the challenge with me has kept me accountable and inspired to keep posting! So here is what I accomplished in September! (*Note: There were definitely some "catch up day" after Oliver was born! I wasn't posting on each date as they came, needless to say!)

Sorry... they uploaded backwards and I'm too lazy to fix that. There is a new prompt for each day of the month:

30: Famous Last Words (I just did my mom's last words)

29: What's on your mind

28: Another Language

27: Drills - Fave Mantras (I didn't do mantras but rather songs that get stuck in my head and bring me peace --- close enough to a mantra)

26: Ways to Make Bad Days Better

25: Popular Trends I Dislike (Honestly, I could have gone off on a TON of trends I dislike but I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings...!)

24: Stationary Item You Can't Live Without

23: Meaning of Your Name (Pearl Light was inspired by my love of Rainbow Brite when I was a kid!)

22: Perfect Holiday (I interpreted holiday as in the British word for "vacation")

21: Childhood Games

20: Time of Place of Significance

19: Hidden Talent(s)

18: Drills: Tough Letters (I found this drill online and used it because this sentence, I figured out, includes almost all the letters of the alphabet!)

17: Movie Quote

16: Book List

15: Ways to Your Heart

14: Notes

13: Rare Quote

12: Letter to Future You

11: Fave Songs Lately

10: Your Perfect Day

9: Your Animal Personality and Why

8: Drills: Your Name

7: 'Thinking of You' Note (When I saw 'Thinking of You,' I immediately got this song stuck in my head and I thought about my mom the whole rest of the day)

6: Handwriting Goals (I think it'd be awesome to be able to write like this without having to think about it!)

5: Handwriting Critiques (I really want to get better at using my calligraphy pen with the real nib and dipped in ink... Also, my writing is always crooked unless it's on lined paper...)

3 & 4: Alphabet Print & Alphabet Cursive

2: Energizing

1: Hello! I am...

And here are the prompts and the folks I follow on Instagram to inspire my own handwriting. These ladies are CRAZY into handwriting and bullet journaling. I tried to get into bullet journaling and then decided I don't have time for that - give me a pre-made planner any day! Still, I enjoy marveling at their creations and reading their reviews of various pens and papers for writing. I'm enjoying getting into handwriting - I hear it also stimulates your brain to write things out... instead...of...typing.......Hmmmm....
