September Reading Challenge Update!

Not much to report.... I started a super long book at the end of July and still am not done with it. I was back at work in August and crazy busy and tired all the time. I just wanted to lounge on the couch and watch MadMen at the end of the day - not read... But now that I'm home and settled into somewhat of a routine as a new mom, I've found joy in reading again. I read while he's napping during the day and I read while I nurse him too! It's just the start of October but I've already finished three books since Oliver was born. Here's the only one I gone done in September:

Read a Book that Takes Place in your Home State ~ 9-26-16: Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier - I read about this book during my internet surfing and was stoked that this author had another book out! I immediately ordered it on Amazon and thanks to my Prime account, it arrived the next day and I finished it within that day. I LOVE Raina Telgemeier and have read all her graphic novels so far - Smile, Sisters, Drama, and four Baby-Sitters Club books re-written as graphic novels (I secretly hope she does more of those!). Ghosts was a sweet story about two sisters - the younger has cystic fibrosis so the family moved from So Cal to Nor Cal for cooler weather to help her in her condition. As the girls are exploring their new town, they come to find out that the people have a kick-ass "Ghost Party" every year in honor of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The Ghosts are real ghosts and they thrive by receiving kisses and breaths of air from the living. You have to "just go with it" (a phrase used a lot in the book) and get lost in the fantasy. I enjoyed reading it and thought it'd be neat to have a chance to party with our loved ones who have passed on.....

October will hopefully be my catch up month! I've finished two books and have more on the horizon! Just keep reading... just keep reading... just keep reading, reading, reading!
