Date: Sunday October 9th, 2005
Event: Chicago Marathon
Location: err...Chicago, IL
Time:  8am (well, the gun went off at 8am, I didn't cross the starting line until 8:12, do to the croud of 40,000 people.)
Mileage: 26.2

Well, ladies and gentlmen, hell has officaially froze over, and I do beleive that I saw a pig fly because I have completed my first marathon!!  I ran 26.2 miles (believe me, the .2 DOES indeed make a difference!) in 5 hours and 3 minutes.  I'm super stoked about my time, and more importantly I'm so proud that I finished!!  I feel amazing!  Well scratch that I feel like shit today, and am walking like a hunchback troll, who can barely sit down on the toilet...but yesterday I felt awesome...well not during or after, and before I was kinda nervous, but I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I'm very proud and on top of the world, but my body has felt better days.  I finished on my own, no use of a wagon, ambulance, oxygen breathing system, or a diaper was needed...and for that I am thankful.  It wasn't easy, but people shouting my name along way really helped.  People had on hilarious outfits and costumes, and I even got a rose from the sweetest guy I know at the end!  It was awesome to have Scott there, I was kinda low at mile 12, and all of a sudden I see him standing there out of know where, it really picked me up.  Chi town was awesome, we got see some fish at the aquarium although Scott never got to "touch some critters".  Scott and I got to peruse about the town Friday night we saw the house of blues and quite possibly the most amazing McDonalds I've ever seen.  A homeless person stopped us to inform Scott that he looked like a nerd, "but aww you know man...a cool nerd, like Buddy Holly" and then proceded to ask us for some money...we told him "No."  It was a packed weekend, All parties came back sore (some more than others) and sunburned (some more than others).  All in all it was a fantabulous weekend...oh and if you see some girl walking around campus wearing a Chicago Marathon teeshirt, a medal, and a bib number...that's me, I'm too proud to ever remove them from my body!!
