This is how the weather has been here -- a mix of incredibly beautiful sun, and massive thunderstorms. I think we're due for some more rain this week -- makes everything so LUSH and lovely. It was very humid again this morning, I'll be surprised if it doesn't spit all day.
Drat. I just realized I forgot to put my ring back on after going to the barn last night. It's too big to shove into my gloves comfortably. Can't wait until I have my wedding band -- then I can still be married, AND shove my hands into gloves! =)
It was a good weekend.
Took Ella to a schooling show, and she was so so so much better. At least to start out with. I lunged her in the warm up. And while she had lots of energy, she still remembered that she had a job. SO. I think I'll attempt to get on her next show and see how that goes. If I lunge her and she's stupid, no dice. If I lunge her and she's as good as she was this time, I'll hop on at least for the warm up. Don't know if we're up for a class yet. So she was much better this time, until we had to stand for three hours and watch everyone else. Can't say I blame her for getting antsy. She hopped RIGHT on the trailer to go home "Dear LORD get me away from this place where we're just standing and doing NOTHING". Very positive. Mac is recovering... it's taking us longer and longer until we hit the 'wall' of his injury. Where his muscles decide they've had enough of working hard. It's good that I can ride him in the arena already again. Had an AWESOME lesson on Lacey. Did a little half-pass. Did some walk-canter/canter-walk work. And did three flying changes across the diagonal!! They weren't pretty...but we did them! Huzzah!!! She's the best investment I've ever made for my riding education. Well, at least since Mac, since I hadn't had my own horse on my own before Mac. And I certainly hadn't ever taken serious cross country lessons before him either!
On the wedding front, I think Kent and I have figured out where we're going to go on our honeymoon! Chipeta Spa and Resort - It's an eco-friendly resort an hour outside of Ouray/Telluride Colorado. Their honeymoon package is 5 nights, a couple's massage, a nice dinner, two spa robes, four passes to the natural hotspring on their property, and a private jacuzzi tub on the balcony (solar heated!)! Yes PLEASE! Not to mention all the fabulous hiking and scenery around the area!! AND we can still take the train from Denver to Grand Junction -- also why I'm excited about our honeymoon! Well, aside from the obvious reason to be excited: we'll be married! YAY! On my list of things YET to do: resolve the flowers, reserve the napkins, table runners, and glasses from the rental company, consult with my prnter friend about the invitations, start amassing addresses, find vases for centerpieces, call and add another tier to the cake or a sheet cake, resolve wedding music/schedule for the ceremony, figure out the horse vs horse and carriage thing... ugh. the list doesn't stop! =)
I've been meaning to do a link posting, but I'm running out of time these days. I'm sorting for a garage sale, working some overtime, attempting to spend time with Kent, work with all the horses, enjoy it when it's sunny outside, and put together a website for a woman I've done work for before. Hopefully everyone else is having a wonderful early summer,
