Ah... life. LoL!
Things have been pretty good as of late. My oh-so-brief confusion passed by almost as quickly as it came. yay for that! :-)! Things with matthew and i are going very well.
Plans for the wedding are slowly but surely starting to develop. we're going to get hitched in his parents' backyard. (pictures to follow!) we're just planning a very small and intimate ceremony with family and maybe a few friends. after that, we're going to have a bbq-esque reception with everyone else. not sure where we're gonna have that yet though. we want somewhere that has both indoors and outdoors. that way people can sit and eat or dance and be merry, while if others want to play games or whatnot, there's room for them as well. such fun ideas! LoL! my maid of honor is going to be my bestest friend paige. she's been there with me through thick and thin, which made it a pretty obvious choice. we haven't decided if we want more attendants than just the maid of honor and best man. we might do 1 other for each of us. he's thinking of having his brother as his best man and possibly asking if my brother wanted to stand up for him as well. we'll see. not quite sure who we're going to get to actually marry us, given that neither of us goes to church. don't really know too many priests off hand. i did hear that it's pretty easy for people to become ordained ministers, so we kinda thought we might look into that to see if my grandpa would be interested in performing the ceremony.
so yeah, we're not 100% sure, but our colors are going to be navy blue and clover (it's a really pretty shade of green). oh... and the wedding's probably going to be on august 2nd or 9th, 2008. haven't decided on that either.
matthew and i are going out to indianapolis next weekend with his parents and little sisters. we're all meeting up with my parents and little sister. it'll be the first time they get to meet each other, so that's pretty exciting. yay for wedding planning as a group! LoL! we're meeting in indianapolis since it's the halfway point between columbus and st. louis. makes lots of sense! LoL!
so anyway... here are some of those pictures i promised of the smith's backyard. obviously the landscaping will have a little more work done to it... especially since we took these right after we got back from vacation.
This is the arch that leads to a walkway... Yay for it already being there! LoL! We're not sure yet if we want to get married under the arch or at the end of the walkway...
The walkway...
We're thinking we'll probably either push the playground stuff against the trees or maybe just get rid of it for the day. This is more than likely where the chairs are going to be.
And the end of the walkway! (That's Matthew's mom). We're buying his parents a new fire pit as kind of a thank you. Yay for that. Obviously though, it would need moved if we do the ceremony here.
View from the arch...
So there you have it! LoL! I'll post an entry here soon with pictures of the dresses I'm contemplating. Paige and I went and tried dresses on last Sunday. It was most definitely a girlie day! LoL! Lots of fun though!
Time for bed!
