Doing this for tumblr but decided to post it here too:

Lead Me On- Amy Grant

I was a HUGE Amy Grant fan as a kid. She’s the reason I started to love singing. I actually have a memory of listening to this song in my room over and over again. I thought it sounded cool back in the day.

Jesus Freak- DC Talk

My Dad really liked DC Talk when they were big. I like this song cuz it’s unique. Pop/Rock/Rap. The rap parts crack me up! And I’m a Jesus freak so it fits.

Spider-man theme- Michael Buble

I was into spiderman as a kid. My brother was into Marvel comics and I always liked the things he did. I didn’t read the comics, but I watched the cartoons (Spiderman and Spriderman and his Amazing Friends). So I love this big band version of the theme song!

Here it Goes- Jimmy Eat World

“On it’s on. I declare my room a scene.” I love that line because I spend a lot of my time in my room haha. And I like the whole message of the song.

Alright- Superchick

I loved this song in high school. I was overwhelmed with school and marching band, and this song just seemed to fit me. It made feel better.

Silence- Joy Williams

This song helped me through a depression I went through in my junior year of high school. I was angry with God for not telling me something and so I pushed Him away. I’ve never felt so low in my life and this song helped me deal with those feelings

We Live- Superchick

I listened to this song right after I got home from a memorial service for a kid I had been in marching band with. He died in a car accident and this song reminds me of him.

Break Your Knees- Flyleaf

This song fits my family so well. The financial issues have been such a burden. Especially between the fall of ’08 through the spring of ’09: It caused my parents to hit rock bottom in their marriage and I was stuck in the middle trying to help and protect my little brother from it all. It was and sometimes still is bad and this song just captures my feelings about it.

You Gave Me a Promise- Fireflight

This song was definitely my anthem during the bad period. It gave me hope when I couldn’t muster any myself.

Look of Love- Joy Williams

Well, I’m going into the future with this one haha. This will be the song my future husband and I will dance to at the reception of our wedding. This is just the cutest song ever and the harmonies are beautiful. BUY IT on itunes. Js js

Emergency- Paramore

I lived off of this song when my parents’ marriage was really bad and I was afraid that they were going to get a divorce. I would just sing it in my room as loud as I could. “I’ve seen love die way too many times when it deserved to be alive. I’ve seen you cry way too many times when you deserve to be alive.”

The Listening- LIGHTS

I realized the last time I fought with my parents that this song is sooo me. The chorus is exactly ME.

Equals- Set Your Goals

This song definitely fits me. Basically, I don’t see myself the way other people do. I guess it’s a confidence and I’m terrified of disappointing the people I love. “Shouting words at a mirror, trying to find the hero they all say I am…I don’t want to let any of you down!”

The Only Exception- Paramore

No, I have not found my only exception, but the verses of the song fit me.

“My mom swore that she would never let herself forget.” “Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul that love never lasts and we’ve got to find other ways to make it alone or keep a straight face. And I’ve always lived like this: keeping a comfortable distance. And up until now I’ve sworn to myself that I’m content with loneliness.”

My Heart- Paramore
The verses, the chorus, everything! It’s a beautiful worship song and I love to sing it!

Counting on God- Desperation Band

I love this song! Such a happy song.

Miracle- Paramore

This song helped me really start pushing myself out of my comfort zone. It helped me do things that I was afraid of doing.

Franklin- Paramore

I feel that way about home sometimes. It’s home, but kind of not really. And I do love going there because I can get away from life up here in g-ville. I also think the song is beautiful.

Playing God and Ignorance- Paramore

After I moved, my Mom thought that I had changed into this terrible person for some reason and it really hurt my feelings. I liked to sing these songs cuz I felt misjudged by her.

Misguided Ghosts- Paramore
It’s perfect for my age. During the college years you’re just trying to figure life and yourself out. Who are you? Who do you want to be? What do you want to do with the rest of your life? This song is about some of the struggles and feelings that occur during the period of finding yourself.
