#1- this oil spill just breaks my heart!
i feel so awful for all the wildlife that has already been effected. it makes so sad. I'm also nervous about the gulf coast of FL, especially my hometon Sarasota. Siesta Key beach was just named the #2 beach in the US and it's on the gulf coast. It's kind of far from the spill but the way they're talking the oil is bound to spread. I would be so sad if any of the beaches in Sarasota are effected by this oil.
Also, we have to worry about hurricane season which starts soon. meteorologists are predicting a pretty active season. i think they said that there will be 14-23 named storms and up to 14 of them could be hurricanes. im nervous for hurricane season now that i live in Gainesville. Sarasota hasnt been directly hit by a hurricane in over 100yrs so even though we've been effected by hurricanes in the past I'm nervous about living in Gainesville during hurricane season.
They're saying that the oil in the gulf will be picked up by the storms and thrown everywhere!! that's gonna be lovely....
#2- I'm now half way through my 1st semester at the University of Florida! and you know what? i feel like i belong :)
I've been presently surprised with my performance in class everyday. I've always loved participating in class discussions and I'm really happy that I've been able to in an intelligent way. I got a 100% on my first quiz and I think i did pretty good on the midterm today.
My professor is a nut, but he's a good teacher and he makes it entertaining. He swears a lot, but w/e i dont mind except when he says god****. that one hurts my heart a little cuz it's extremely disrespectful to my God, but a lot of ppl say it despite how it makes Christians feel, so whatever. it's just annoying that Christians are always told that we have to be more accepting of people that dont believe in what we do and we have to respect others blah blah blah, but they of course dont have to be respectful of us! such a double standard these days.
Got off topic there. I do really like him. He's a great professor and I'm really happy.
