Freak out, give in, doesn't matter what you believe in...

Hmm. I don't know what to think about a new Smashing Pumpkins record. The last long player(Machina/The Machines of God) from Billy and Co. left kind of a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, I fucking loved it when it came out, but I think I wore myself out on it, and it really wasn't that good. I listened to it today for the first time in 6 years, and was reminded why I hadn't touched it in 6 years. Weak song writing, rock histrionics, way too over-produced. 2 stars. To contrast, 1998's Adore still get 4 stars from me to this day, cause it's a great album. The first single from the new album, Tarantula, is *alright*, but I saw concert footage of God and Country on YouTube, and it was pretty good. It gives me hope for the rest of the album. I loved the Pumpkins 7 years ago, but hardly listen to them anymore. I don't think I dislike the music(for the most part), I just burned myself out on them. Well, we'll see how Zeitgeist is.
