Having a quiet one in tonight and have had the urge to pull out my Stone Roses CDs and have a listen. Through the ramblings of my mind a twisted and convoluted train of logic got me to thinking about who I wanted to be when I grew up.
When I was 11 or 12 years of age I wanted to be either
Graeme Garden (more specifically his character in
The Goodies) or
Sir David Attenborough but in my early teens I wanted to be the woman in either
this song... or
this song... Nothing like having an over inflated sense of your own significance huh? But
this song changed me forever (the last 6 lines are different in the version I have though)...
Oh the folly and romantic ideals of youth!
For the record the fact that all three songs are by the
Waterboys is not not more evidence that I am a hippy...
Edit : Upon listening I really do have to add that
This Is The Sea is one of my favourite albums and the title song
"This is the Sea" can still seriously stir my emotions all these years later.
