fannish summary
I've finally started The Vampire Diaries which I've avoided up until now because I was more or less vampired out and not too thrilled with it being set in high school. They really should've set it in college since it would explain among other things freedom of movement not too mention the twentysomething cast. Thus far Alaric is my favorite character.(haven't quite finished the first season yet) I watched the Originals last year because its cast are adults rather than faux teens.
Voltron kind of jumped the shark for me when they turned Lotor into a bwahaha villain for shock value. Season 5 I was expecting some conflict between him and the paladins and I wouldn't have minded if he became an antagonist due to wanting to kill Shiro like he did Narti because Haggar was using him. It just seems so puzzling that they put so much care and effort into making him a gray and nuanced character and than just tossing it away for a gotcha moment.
At least the Sense8 finale was beautiful and nothing hurt. Obviously lots of stuff got rushed such as the Lacuna/chariman/cluster war/Jonas plots and Cepheus and Lito got pushed to the margins not to mention Kala/Rajan?Wolfgang. I'm inclined to cut Wachowski some slack because originally 6 seasons got cut into three and then netflix pulled the plug after two seasons and would only give them 2 and a half hours. They tried to fit as many character beats and bonding between the three as they could and already had a poly relationship among Amanita's parents and I'm just glad they avoided a cliche triangle.
Well that's it. Kind of odd how I'm posting this to livejournal and not to dreamwidth. Just to lazy to figure out double posting and most of my activity is on tumblr anyway.
