Astronomers at the University of Puerto Rico have come up with a classification scheme for exoplanets that divide them into 6 size ranges and 3 temperature ranges. The sizes are: Miniterrras, Subterras, Terras, Superterras, Subjovians, and Jovians. The temperature classes are hot, warm and cold.
http://phl.upr.edu/projects/habitable-exoplanets-catalog/media/pte I've got to admit what I really like about this is that under this system Pluto is classified as a cold Miniterra along with Titan and the Galilean moons. Yes I'm one of those people who reject the IAU definition of planets. Unfortunately this catalogue has received almost no attention which is sad not least because it gives a view of Puerto Rico that has nothing to do with hurricanes and economic hardship.
