Blue Seed eps 21-26

Hmm...yeah, that was a pretty good ending, and definately helped a lot with my being irked as far as the whole environmentalism thing goes(anime likes the theme too much, and I like anime too much.)

Once Kusanagi is retrieved from Kaede and Susa-no-o, Japan and the US decide that the best way to deal with the giant plants popping up all over Japan that are going to turn humans into plants is to nuke Japan.  I engage in face palming.  Matsudaira goes off to wisely spen her potentially last night on Earth with her son.  I approve.  Except for the part where her kid is still in Tokyo.  Takeuchi drags Kunikida off for sex and Kunikida apparently decide they're getting married if they live.  I approve, but am somewhat surprised they went ahead with that.  Koume and Yaegashi go off and bond, and I'm also surprised they went with that. Kusanagi drags Momiji off for sex asks Momiji to go on a date with him to the beach.  The dirty part of my mind is mildly disappointed that there was only mature bonding, and no apparent beach sex.  Or makeout sessions.  (Look, they completely deserve it...if superheroes can make out mid-apocalypse anytime they want to, then so can they!)

Hmm...they also seemed to hook up Sakura and that cop who liked Takeuchi at the end, there.  I guess that Kaede is the only girl to not get a boyfriend, here.  Unless we count Susa-no-o...

Kusanagi gains many more points(not that he needed them) by continuing to show that he's completely over Kaede in that way and all about Momiji now.  He also tries to make up for lost time with the "MOMIJI!!"s.  Momiji endears herself even more and proves she's about te bravest little thing ever with the non-stop Matsuri ritual, even if she does make me worry that this is going to end with Kusanagi going off the deep end with angst and becoming a psycho hermit over her death.  (He so couldn't handle that angst added to what he already has.)

So, great anime.  Goos use of mythology, good characters, some amazing angst at times.  If only there had been a sword... (What?  It's an important part of the original legend! Completely legitimate longing!)

Also
calixahas started watching the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle anime.  She is in awe of the princess complexes, and of Syaoran's ability to beat anyone at the mention of the word "Sakura." Discussing the series when one only has the manga, and the other the anime is quite entertaining.

Meanwhile, the f-list has been posting non-stop on The Romance of Red Dust this week.  It makes me long for a new wuxia.  I should do a linkblog for all those posts.  (I just have to remember who all made them...)
