Young Warriors: ep 39
Incidentally, this is my new favorite icon, by
calixa. Though If you haven't seen Hu Ge's dramas, esp. The Little Fairy, it may not make sense...
And yes, doing these posts ep by ep is the only way I am surviving, though I think I'm past the worst of it now.
Points of incredible pain(in order of ascending trauma):
1) The DEATHS. Part 1: I thought I was deadened to this...until Yang Ye killed himself to prove his loyalty to BE(TOTALLY. NOT. WORTHY. OF. HIM.) and to escape the humiliation and betrayal of being forced to kneel to anyone but BE.
2) The DEATHS: Part 2: Eddie Peng should not be allowed to die in a drama. EVER. But man...usually he's so cute and darling that you kinda forget how good a fighter Qi Lang is. Up until he's fighting for his life and, after being stabbed, learns his father is dead. Then he kinda goes ballistic on some Liao butts...and ends up with a few dozen Liao arrows in him. The Liaos seem to realize that it takes at least a dozen mortal wounds to bring a Yang down. And then he PROPS HIMSELF UP WITH HIS SPEAR so that he won't fall down before his enemies...and is still holding Jing E's scarf...even after he's dead and even when the bodies are returned to the city.
3) Then there's the return with Liu Lang and Wu Lang the only Yangs left and the wives crying over their bodies...you'd THINK that would be the worst...
4) Until you see that Yang Mama can't cry or show her grief despite losing her husband and five sons at once. Is there anything worse(ok, husband, 7 sons and daughter, but we will not contemplate such a thing)
There were other moments of pain, many, but not as great.
On the points of hate:
1) BPM calmly sitting there and eating, watching the procession as the Yangs return, smirking.
2) BE crying. Too little, too late.
I hope you both die horribly somewhere in the next 4 episodes.
OTOH, TPTB seem to realize how therapeutic it is to have Wu Lang take out a dozen or so Liaos(Si Lang, Liu Lang and Yang Ye may have gotten all the ones that got brothers 1-3, but now there are a few dozen others responsible for Qi Lang...) and then scream his pain and rage to the heavens. Then they tossed in Liu Lang screaming is own pain beside him, after the fight.
There would be more courting with Qi Lang, but he objects to being singled out.
He points out that he has SIX older brothers from the same gene pool...surely at least one of them is worse at it...
Liu Lang likes to take girls to scenic rivers:
To be on the safe side, he sometimes brings the Yang Clan Secret Weapon, aka, Ba Mei, along with him:
Once she is used as a hook to reel a girl in(and then sent off, her job done), it should be easy:
Not.
But FEAR NOT! Salvation is at hand:
