Young Warriors ep 38

Sep 13, 2007 23:35

Ok, I can't do this alone...I must sob as I watch...

Because the episode (after a scene w/ the Liao camp) starts in almost the most awful way it possibly could, with Guan Hong riding to the battlefield to find Wu Lang (sadly, she's simply not suited to be a general's wife, much as they love each other...she can't handle the pain of watching him ride off to potential death on a regular basis) and instead finds the oldest brother(because the Yang army was forced to flee and couldn't go back to retrieve his body), still impaled, put where he'll be the first thing any of the Song armies who come see, and all she can  do is stare and scream "1st brother!" until Yelu Xie shows up, and then we cut to Wu Lang still trapped at the emperor's camp, begging to be allowed to take his men to help, but the Bastard Emperor and Bastard Prime Minister won't let him.

And why oh why couldn't that assassin have killed them both?

What follows is several minutes of my begging Wu Lang to just kill BE and BPM already until BPM orders the ENTIRE ARMY to attack Wu Lang to stop him from riding to the rescue.  Apparently he forgot that Wu Lang is a freaking god of war and perfectly capable of taking out 20 or 30 guys UNARMED before making it to his spear(which he only uses in fighting BPM...he knows who's to blame)

I feel Guan Hong riding into the camp to save him(by having him mount up behind her) will always have a teardrenched place in my heart.  Even though I feel bad things are coming from that.

*cries*

And I was right...because Yelu Xie told her about the other brothers so she knew that he'd lost not 2 brother but 3 but he didn't know, and she knew there was virtually no army left  but she knew telling him would just make him more determined to save what family she had left so she knocked him upside the head and he had SUCH a look of betrayal on his face before passing out...

DIE BPM!!! DIE DIE DIE!!!!  *I have been shouting this every time he opens his mouth for about 6 episodes now)

Nonononono Qi Lang! He hates you! Run away! Run away! Think boy, WHY would he ever be nice to you...

*sobs*

I simply cannot talk about the next scene because it involves Yang Ye and tears(even mighty generals can cry when they've lost 3 sons in one day) and I can't handle that when I'm NOT  a wreck...It involves the same from Si Lang and Liu Lang, but I can(normally) cope with that.

And now it's the next day...

And BE and BPM have sent their troops to stop 8th Prince from going to help the rest of the Yang army and WILL SOMEONE JUST KILL THEM ALREADY!

Ok, I can appreciate this battle more than the last because I know none of them die in it.  I shall tell myself that every soldier Yang Ye, Si Lang and Liu Lang kills is one of the ones that killed the 3 oldest sons...It good a good 20-30 men combined, if not more.  The Yang's don't die easily.

OH MY GOD!!!!!

They couldn't find the bodies of the 3nd and 3rd brothers because the Liaos took them as trophies and are using them to taunt the Yang army again.

Dangit, I thought this battle would be SAFE for me...

(and randomly, how convenient that Si Lang, the son who was lost as a kid on the battlefield finds and saves a kid on the battlefield...)

And naturally, Si Lang and Liu Lang go charging after the cart to get the bodies back...and are SEPARATED from all the rest of the troops...

That was some truly awesome, Wu Lang level fighting on Si Lang and Liu Lang's parts, but I am apparently too traumatized to properly appreciate it.

And the bodies have been POISONED.

I now hate every Liao therre is.  But not as much as BPM and BE.

Liu Lang, if you send your unconscious brother off on the horse YOU WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN!

The scene with Wu Lang and Guan Hong...it's too painful to even talk about.  SHE SAW ALL THREE BODIES! WITH NO FAMILY TO SUPPORT HER!  And Wu Lang...I don't think he really realized what dad always tried to tell him until she told him about the brothers.  Ok, apparently I can talk about it...barely...

Possibly because I am not quite so far gone that I can appreciate how becoming the angst, black clothes and ponytail are on Wu Lang.

...

...

Qi Lang tied to a post and BPM cracking a whip...dunno if I can take what's coming, even if I know that's not how he dies.

I can also appreciate what angst, dirt, white clothes and angst do for Qi Lang...

That's right Qi Lang...don't let BPM badmouth your brother...

*dead*

And the other 2 deaths haven't even occurred yet...

Ok, talking about it as I got is actually worse somehow...possibly because it lasts longer as I have to keep pausing...

For the first time, I understand why people put off watching the ends of series they know will be painful.  But I shall bulldoze through it to the best of my ability.  That way, the pain won't be waiting for me.  But you know what?  Even Damo and Emperor of the Sea contained the worst of it to the final episode.  But here? Oh no, they have to stretch it out to at least 3 episodes, with more episodes after...

To make myself feel better:  How to keep your OTP's father from realizing you two are nuts about each other when you're supposed to be teaching her how to be a lady so she can land a husband.

First, take on the role of the prospective suitor in roleplaying, attempting to be the mature one in the process:

Forget what you're doing and stare intently at each other for several minutes:

Don't worry, he won't notice.

Not.
