kdrama: Bodyguard

I started this drama earlier today(watchedthe first 2 episodes) and, while I'm not 100% in love with it yet, there's lots to like about it.

1.  Song Il Gook, or "how I learned about it in the first place":

Most recognizable to some like this:

Or this:

Or even this:

I understand he eventually becomes the bad guy, but A) I like his character so far, B) He makes a good bad guy, and C) I don't care, he's in it.

2.  When I first learned about this show, all d-wiki has was the normal title/airdate/episode count/cast list, and this picture:

It has the OTP with silly grins making peace signs, how can you not love? (the d-wiki page has more on it, now)

3.The hero is 26 cm taller than the heroine.  That's at least a foot or so.  Actually, this guy is Abe Hiroshi-tall(only 1 cm shotyer) and, like Hiroshi, often looks like he towers over ANYONE just because he's so very, very LONG...he's only 4 cm taller than SIG, but in their scenes together, unless the camera shows any angle save side-by-side, he looks a head taller...and SIG is NOT a little guy...

4.  The series opens with our hero(in black pants and a sleaveless black shirt) chasing a mugger.  For a very long time.  After this there are many other scenes of our hero running, and he does not seem to believe in sleaves and loves his jeans.  He is also an excellent fighter and a master of flying kicks, and can single handedly(or even single footedly) stop Gokusen-style beatings and come out the winner by far.

5.  The OTP first meets when she accidentally stumbles across him relieving himself in the bushes.  There is mutual rapid averting of eyes and scurrying away.

6.  The OTP next meets when he catches her shoplifting and she tricks him into thinking that she's a poor high school student who got out of school early and will have her academic chances ruined if he turns her in.  THen calls him an idiot when she's far enough away that he can't catch her. (she's only 20 and he's not overly bright, so it's a believable trick...while there's a 13 year age gap for the actors, I think his character is only mid-20s)

7.  The hero in general, really.  He's an absolute dear with a strong since of justice and right and wrong, but who isn't very bright and can't keep a job because he's too honest.  He's currently working as a host and looking for an escape route(which, I believe, shall soon present itself in the form of a job offer from SIG)  He's kinda like Si/Domyoji in a way, only poor and with a lot of the violence replaced with a need for justice.

8.  SIG as a businessman wearing impeccable suits who's clearly besotted with one of his employees(in a purely respectful way, so far at least)  It's entirely possible that I went "WOMAN! Song Il Gook has a thing for you! Do NOT pass on this!"
