Those monks have some amazing willpower.

I have just watched the entire Chinese Ghost Story trilogy in less than 24 hours.  (I was trying for one sitting, but the last one was longer than I thought it was and I got sidetracked by BTS clips for City Hunter, so I had to put it off or risk staying up too late and be late for wok this morning.  Cursed work ethic!)  So much pretty, glorious crack!  My head now has nothing in it but Joey Wong rescuing Leslie Chung from various types of Dire Peril, and then trying to seduce him.

Though, between the third movie and Green Snake, I half wonder if playing spirits who try to seduce monks is a thing for Joey Wong's characters.

Out of curiousity, for those who watch them, what's everyone's favorite 80s and 90s Hong Kong Cinema? (I know I've discussed this with a couple of you before, and still have your recs written down)  I've seen Green Snake and the Chinese Ghost Story trilogy, obviously, and well as the Bride With White Hair movies, Iron Monkey, Butterfly Sword (I think that was the title...it had Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh) and the Once Upon A Time in China movies, though it's been a good while with those last few.  My favorites are probably Bride With White Hair, Green Snake, and Iron Monkey.  I suspect the first Chinese Ghost Story movie will be added, but it's not fair to make that judgement the day after you watch it.

And has anyone seen the TV series based on Chinese Ghost Story?  I don't think I've heard much of anything about it.
