I knew I should have dug out the first 2 volumes and reread them before reading this! But…uhm…I just have no idea where they are. Woes!
Though, as the series is pretty much the manhwaga going “Let me write a love letter to mythology and draw pretty pictures of the celestial heavens and kingdom and costumes!” it wasn’t hard to catch up.
Habaek kept his clothes on the entire volume. Unless we include the afterword including his original design. Is that a spoiler? I think the first two volumes had him losing his clothes so much that I thought he was allergic. It’s so gratuitous that I’m not sure it even counts as fanservice anymore.
In a very strange twist, Habaek’s mother pretends to be his dead wife so he’ll pay attention to her. Thankfully, he sees through it immediately. Sadly, this causes Soah to spin into a “Woes! His True love has returned and he no longer wants me!” depression. Though, considering the way he was acting during all that, she may be better off that way.
Possibly, they also had sex while Habaek was being a jerk. I rather hope not. Then he wipes her memories and sends her back to Earth. To the people who decided to make her a sacrifice.
I find his judgement to be very questionable.
I am quite certain that Soah’s human boyfriend will be dead or evil soon.
But the bargain with Soah remembering his name despite the amnesia! I’ve kind of always been in love with that kind of mythic trope.
In short: Amnesia! Possible sex of questionable consent! Moar angst! Moar pretty pictures!
