Grace has diarrhea. Which is a bad thing. She told me she had to poop in her diaper tonight before she went to bed and needless to say, it was messy.

Anyway, she came downstairs a little bit ago because she had to tinkle and she said she accidentally pooped in her underwear. Just a little skid mark, nothing major. She told me she thought she just had to toot but a little poop came out. As we are standing there talking about this, she suddenly looks at me and says she has to toot again. I sit her on the potty and she pooped. In the potty!

Those of you that have been following along on my journey into motherhood know that she has not done this yet. She's been wearing underwear for over a year now and is night trained at this point, too, but I have not been able to get her to poop in the potty. So this is a Big Deal.

While I am not a fan of diarrhea and I feel bad that she's in the midst of some sort of gastrointestinal issues, I am THRILLED that she pooped in the potty. We sang her the "I'm Proud of You" song and gave her one of the Littlest Pet Shop toys that have been sitting on top of the freezer for just this occassion (they've been there for ages).

When I put her back in bed, she told me she was so proud of herself.

Maybe this is the beginning of her being fully toilet trained. God, I hope so.

poop, sick, potty, grace
