Did anyone else wake up in the middle of the night with a splitting and totally horrible headache? I hadn't drunk alcohol for 20 hours, and I don't get hangovers except from red wine or port, so it wasn't that. Mum thinks it was a sharp drop in air pressure - a supposition possibly borne out by the forecastAny other explanations? Is my head ( Read more... )

Dehydration long post drinking alcohol can sometimes have this effect. A large drink of water with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar, or perhaps better honey, could help if so.

'nk you.

Feeling better now, after bath, pizza and the Billy and Dom Show (i.e. Two Towers Extended Version, cast commentary).

Off to MK tomorrow for a soloists' Messiah rehearsal.

Allergic reaction to something? Caused by random neck twisting? Trapped nerve? These are things that happen to me.

But anyway, *nuggles*

Sounds like a case of Barometer-Head to me! I'm a frequent sufferer of this malady. Sometimes the only thing that will help is some Aspirin/Acetaminophen blend with caffeine along with some psuedoephedrine (Sudafed decongestant in the US - the real stuff, not the new junk to thwart the meth cookers...the REAL stuff from behind the counter).

So I'll usually take the Sudafed, the pain pill with anti-inflammatory and drink a caffeinated beverage (hot works best) and try to take at least a half hour nap. That will usually help knock it out. It certainly can be miserable though! Of course this happens the most during my bad allergy times which correspond with the times of year with the most drastic changes in weather and barometric pressure. All I can say is UGH!

Hope you feel better!

Thanks. I know Mum's a barometerhead, but this is the first time it's happened to me.
