Thinking Happy Thoughts

Would probably have to be the first time I received an acceptance for publication. I have the email printed and framed above my desk. I remember screaming so loud my parents freaked out. XD

I think it's more a remembering of the feeling rather than the moment itself... though I can recall some moments where I've been happier, because they weren't too long ago and one I recall vividly because of what another (my sister) said about it.

It will sound cliche, but the birth of my son. I felt literally ecstatic for about 24 hours afterward. Maybe it was just an endorphin buzz, but it was great!

Seconding the feeling. I've actually given this one a lot of thought, ages ago, and it's still the same:

The day I met Cat. I was this lonely kid, almost done with a gradeschool where everyone made fun of me and my "best friend" wouldn't even speak to me. My Dad had a friend who liked "dragons and that Japanese stuff" and they arranged a sort of playdate.

We clicked right away. There was much squeeing over silly fandom things (like her DBZ manga) and general silly jokes. Her sister was watching Mulan, and we sang along with "Reflections" even though I was always too nervous to sing around people, especially new ones. Her uncle had barbecued steak and satueed mushrooms, and our families watched Independence Day and ate the best dinner ever, and all the while, we just clickedAnd because of Cat...I don't even know where to begin. I met my highschool friends, who are still a tight-knit group today. I grew and matured as a person and an artist. I had the confidence to try out for hard art classes and an art college where I met ( ... )
