In the 1960s and early-1970s "ITC" [a company owned by Sir Lew Grade] funded a number of "Spy-fi" TV series. Best known of the bunch is ~The Prisoner~ but there were plenty of others.

Have to say i much prefer sapphire and steel. The creepy atmosphere still holds up for most episodes.
