On Friday night we went over to Satoru's house for dinner. We ended up being there quite late and watching the video from Satoru's wedding last year. It was a good time, and Takato was just as cute as ever.
On Saturday I wasted the day away and then we drove to Jammin for Mark's hair cut. Then we had dinner and met up with the boys at Lriver. Lucky for me, Amy and Rebecca showed up, but it was very much a boys' night. And Lriver was sooo crowded. I ended up leaving Mark there around 12:00 and driving back to his house, where I slept for the night, while he continued drinking with the boys.
In the morning I overslept, but still managed to pick up Courtney at 8:30. We stopped for breakfast and drove down to Fuji-Q. We arrived before the Irish, so we decided to ride Fujiyama. Two hours later we finally did. We met up with them at about noon. When you added us to the group there were nine of us, quite a large group. We decided to stand in line for Eejanaika, because with 9 people, we were sure to be able to entertain ourselves for the few hours we'd be waiting. I was surprised it only took 2 hours to get on the ride. We got really lucky and all of us took up a side of the ride, there are ten seats on each side. So we all got to ride together. We took off our shoes and started to freak out just a bit as we got all strapped in. Then we were off, upside down and hurling through the air. The worst part, in my opinion, is when you were flung to the side of your seat AND facing the ground as you went through a loop. AHHHHH!
When it was over (about 60 seconds). We were all so drained. We decided it was time to sit for a bit and get some food. It's kind of an emotional low after being on something like that. After, we went back to Fujiyama and rode it (for Courtney and I, again). It wasn't such a long wait this time, and the ride was the best it's been for me. We had a crazy pose in the camera, and I bought it, will hopefully scan it tonight. We went on the spinny Pizza-La ride too, but by then it had started to rain and it was soooo cold, flying through the air, with the wind and the rain. Courtney and I left after, thinking we'd try to get back at a reasonable time. Unfortunately, we got stuck on the road coming back into the Kofu Valley. Sometimes, there aren't that many roads here, and if they close one, it can take you hours to get where you were trying to go, even when you can SEE where you want to be. We finally worked it out, but it put an extra 45 minutes or so into our travel time. And of course, by then it was pouring down rain.
But, we had a blast with the Irish, Shawn will leave Japan next week, and that makes me sad, cause he is tons of fun! But if I move to London, I'll have someone to visit in Ireland!!
