So yesterday evening I went to the movies with some friends of mine, film buffs. It was my turn to pick a movie, but I had simply made a list of 4 movies and then I asked the others whether they had a preference. The ultimate decision was to go to Good Night, and Good Luck directed by George Clooney. The list of movies they could choose from: Good Night, and Good Luck; Pirates of the Caribbean 2; Bubble; United 93.
I had actually already seen Pirates, but I never tire of seeing Jack and Will. *shrugs* :D I think the others will go see Pirates, because without spoiling anything I made it very clear that it was SO worth your while going. *grins*
We had much fun. It was actually nice to go the theatre because it was MUCH cooler inside than it was outside. Yay! Anyway, I loved the feeling of this movie.
Especially liked the fact that it was all in black and white. I adored the jazz singer. What a voice. Wow. Terrific. One of the friends I saw it with is a smoker and he said afterwards that that movie was really bad because the urge to smoke got stronger and stronger each minute. Why? Because there's a lot of smoking involved. Poor guy.
It was said that people who hadn't read the Da Vinci Code couldn't understand the movie, but that really was not the case. I felt like this movie of George Clooney was much more complex and difficult in some ways than the Da Vinci Code.
We had fun. Lots of fun. Afterwards we went to a bar for a drink. The smoker also had the urge to drink whiskey, because again, he was being influence by the men in the movie. They drank Scotch. :D
Can't wait to see what movie we will see next time. Next time will be either in August or September. We might go to United 93 in a smaller committee before that appointment, because not all of us want to see it.
