Betty Goldstein's wedding is approaching fast... Despite her age, she has finally found the love of her life in Joe Graham. Ever watching the community of Riverblossom Hills, she is also quickly befriending its newest inhabitants - the Sharpes.
Meanwhile, Cleo is pregnant.
... Very pregnant.
Catherine is excited. She has no children of her own, so her niece's baby will be the closest she'll ever get to having a grandchild.
Cleo is excited too, but she's getting quite bored with the whole pregnancy thing, being stuck at home while everyone else is going to work.
Her energy is much lower than she's used to, and she spends her days drinking espresso to compensate.
But then, finally...
Joshua Shikibu-Martin is born.
Soon after, Betty and Joe get married. Both the last of their lines, they both keep their surnames.
Family and friends are all gathered at the wedding.
It's a good opportunity for Jacob to visit from college and meet his new little brother, too.
At the end of the day, Catherine makes a decision. Cleo is going back to work, Andrew is busy with his career, and Betty is busy with her own job too and her new husband. Catherine has been married once, but Julio died long ago, and she herself is getting old. So, she quits her job, to be able to focus on what's important in life (what she has left of it, anyway) ...
... her little grand-nephew, Joshua. Who needs a nanny?
