NAPLES

Last night we went to Naples, which is one of the biggest cities, and according to the travel book, one of the most dangerous. But a lot of the people were really nice, like at the parking place this guy ended up giving my dad three euros when my dad was just trying to get change from him, and wouldn't accept the money back. And this car almost hit my family('cause driving in Naples is INSANE. Basically the red light means almost nothing, and there aren't really any lanes, so a road that would be two lanes in America ends up having four lanes squeezed out of it, with vespas darting in and out) and when the car honked at us(they were in the wrong) three Italians sitting near off did the Italian version of flipping off the car and were all yelling passionately at the driver, so it was kind of cool and nice!

We went to the museum that has all the artifacts from Pompeii, and the weirdest was the "Secret Room" You have to be 14 to go in by yourself, otherwise with a parent, and it has all the erotic frescoes and statues from Pompeii.....really weird. and disturbing. Linnea said she was traumatized 'cause she didn't mean to go in and then was shocked, it was kind of funny....

Also we went out to dinner with some work friends of my dad by the water and it was sooooo pretty!!! the bay is just beautiful here, but it was too bad it was nice. It was all seafood, and it was different than I've had before 'cause I usually don't eat clams and mussels, or octopus or whatever the other stuff was, but it was still pretty good and a good experience. The wine was also surprisingly good, and I tried some Limoncello(and Guiseppe's wife wrote out the recipe for me, so now I have my very own recipe for a semi-hard alocholic drink! I just have to wait three years....). The Limoncello was kind of weird though, I don't think I really liked it. Then it was one in the morning, on a thursday night, and we went to this boardwalk type thing and it was insane how much traffic and how many people were out! very different from shoreline. There was sooo much going on! But we went and got supposedly the best gelato in Naples(some of the best I've ever had) and then got back at our hotel around 3.

So that's basically my day yesterday. Today we're going to the Almafi coast, and then tomorrow heading to Germany and to Verena!!
